Main Place Youth Centre
Patrick Suessmuth, a coach who inspired a generation of Erin kids to have fun, push their limits and believe in themselves, passed away at the age of seventy-five in 2014.
After his passing, a group of volunteers incorporated MAIN PLACE OPTIMISTS OF ERIN (MPO) Inc, (MPO) an organization dedicated to continuing Patrick’s dream by providing basketball and ongoing recreational youth programs in the Town of Erin. This dedicated and enthusiastic team continued to develop financial and operational plans to ensure his dream remained viable and sustainable.
MPO had a vision to create a permanent Centre to run youth programs for the Town of Erin. The stated vision for the Centre was to provide recreational, educational, wellness and social programs year-round for our youth. Our youth need a safe and fun place to recreate outside of school hours. Main Place Youth Centre aspires to be just that.
